    Hello all!

    Hi again.

I made two mission for Thief 2 some years ago. And now just got Thief 3 and did the OMs (incredible game ).

    So letīs start Dromeing!
    Opss, no Dromed this time.

I looked in many sites about FMs, but.... WHERE ARE THE THIEF 3 FMS?

I canīt belive that nobody did a Thief 3 FM yet.

(And is there a torrent for T3Ed? I tryed the "jan2005", but it is not working.)

The normal download should work. It's just a bit tricky to install. Take a look at this tutorial:

    Error

Thanks. I followed them, but getting an error:

I can open the Editor, use it and load the "tutorial" missions. But when I try to open one of the OMs, it crashes with windows fatal error.

I think that it has something about the meshes. Because I was doing the Komag Tutorial. I could save and load my mission. Until I needed load one OM, then it crashed. Then skiped this part of the tutorial. After sometime the tutorial says to create a static mesh called “GENbarrelrack”. Just after I placed it on the map, got the same windows fatal error. Then tryed to load my misson again, but got the error.

    EDIT1:
Now I tryed to load Komag tutorial save before adding the “GENbarrelrack”, but got same error. This save had lights and the lockpick script. Can the script cause the problem?

    EDIT2:
Argh! Now it crashed when I added one torch.
I will try to reinstall everything.

    EDIT3:
Uninstalled everything. Reinstalled, but got the same error!
    Help! Please help!

    EDIT4:
Do I need to update the game to version 1.1?
Komag tutorial says nothing about it.

Installing the editor on a dual core

I have installed the editor on a dual core system, the specs are:
    AMD Athlon 64, X2 Dual core, 3800+
    Windows XP Home
    Front Side Bus: 1000 MHz
1024 MB DDR, 1MB Second Level Cache
256 MB, nVidia GeForce 6600 ViVO Dvi

So far I got it working by using WinlauncherXP. I can play the original game and even starting up the editor.. yeah..
But when I try to go into game mode nothing happens. I don't even get a error, only the famous windows "pling" when you are doing something wrong. I have to escape the application to exit. The editor however is still runing so I think the real problem is the .exe file the editor is using. Does somebody know what .exe file it is using? Or better... know a sollution?

    Thanks.

What do you mean by try to go into game mode?

He probably means build >> Play level . And the problem you describe is similar to that one i had. There is a problem with zonelabs that you cannot bypass. If you are using that firewall disable it before playing your level. I uninstalled it because of that though i liked zonelabs. But Norton is ok either... Just a little bit too lame

Indeed, she means, build >> Play level.
I do not use zonelabs but i can try to disable my firewall as well. I am at work right now, when I get home I will try it and lett you know about the results.

    Cool.
I don't mean to sound insulting, but it's best to start with basic things - you did swap the t3main.exe with the t3mainoptversion.exe right?

    No insult taking here
Yes, I followed the install guide at wiki fleshworks. I deleted the
    T3Main.exe and renamed T3MainOptVersion.exe to T3Main.exe
That is the way it is supposed to be, right?

I tried disable the firewall but no result.

Does anybody else with a dual core system works with the editor?
The reason I aks is because more people seems to have problems running thief 3 with a similar system.
Also the only way I can run the editor at all is using winlauncherXp which runs Thief3Launcher which launch the editor. Yeah I know it is a work arround but so far it seems the only way to get the editor running at all.

O Yeah, when I try to go in game mode, I do get the loading screen. This is the appl. I have to hit the escape to exit. The editor self is still runing without problems. Just thought I should mention it.

If it's getting to the loading screen and stopping that might be the user.ini thing - try messing with the blockloading settings.

And remember to save the map, (and export for game first probably doesn't hurt) before you hit the play button...

That really sounds like my problem... It was totally the same. But as you said you havnt zonealarm installed. Perhaps you could try to run your map without Debug enabled. You can do this by creating a .bat file in [your T3Ed folder]\System and type "T3MainReleaseVersion.exe AutoPlay" in it. Now you can start the game without debug(which is must faster btw) by build >> send to xbox.

    And sry for that *He*...

You also need to call the .bat file "xbreboot.bat".

try messing with the blockloading settings
yeah but how and into what? I altered everything wikki fleshworks says.

I Also tried the .bat thing but again no results.
I do however found some new information what I am getting.

    Localization: No localization: T3.General.Start (int)
    Log: True Map Name :
Warning: Failed to load 'Level None.MyLevel': Failed to find object 'Level None.MyLevel'

Well, looks like I'm out of suggestions, unless you haven't played the main game yet and it's not got registry settings.

Single core system, see, so I haven't experienced the problem.

Sorry, but the only other thing I could even pretend to suggest is forcing it to use a single core for the game and editor.

Do you have spaces in your directory name? Not C:\Thief Edit\ but C:\ThiefEdit\

It works for me WITH spaces. I have d:\programme\thief3 edit . I made some other tutorial about installing t3ED, in which it wasnt said that the folder should be named Thief3Edit, but it works fine...

There are problems with conversations if you have blank spaces, apparently... but the editor should still start up.

I've just had a look at this and it appears that for some reason your autoplay.unr and autoplay.gmp aren't being created, or aren't being created in the correct place. Have a look in your editor install folder\content\maps and see if those two files are present. Maybe they're being created in your main T3 folder instead (do you have two install folders?). Do you have suitable permissions to those folders?

I'd recommend going through Komag's tutorial just to make sure everything's set up properly.

    Erk, double post.

I'm messing around with trigger scripts, and have made a script that changes the physics property of an actor. I've added in an action to switch on a light at the same time so I know the script is firing, but the physics don't change. Is it not possible to change physics stuff that way?
