Well, at least you're not leaving leaving TTLG, and that's a good thing.

But wtf are we s'pozed to do if supermario### comes back & posts again GBums? I ask you that!

P.S. Ulu's an excellent choice for your successor, imho.

P.P.S. Is this the part where we all stand up and shout, 'The King is dead. Long live the King'? Canadian customs still confuse me. Especially since I don't speak French.

Wait, I haven't even been banned by you yet. I thought we were just getting started. I don't like this, not one bit, and if you think I'm organizing a retirement party you can kiss my white ass.

It'll be like one of those action films where a detective comes out of retirement to solve one last case.

I saw that too. How am I going to be able to keep up with what is being grown in his garden now?

    He'll be back, eventually.

He's leaving the Intarwebs! When's the Geebums Unplugged Tour begin?

  13. #63
He's working on the device that "allows you to punch someone in the face over the internet."

Current prototypes require lots of offline testing for comparison. Several of you can expect to see him by the end of the month.

Nope, not a face-punching app, but I can confirm GBM groped me over in the Thief 3 forum yesterday.

His G+ is still active, but it's possible he just forgot he had it...

I still have an open invite for steak and beers if ever I'm in Sacramento/Davis, right?

    ....right?

What is this? I'm vaguely useful to the world for a weekend and this happens!
Retire?! How can this be? The edifice is incomprehensible any other way. Can't you just be like Johnny Carson and just not show up for work, having guests instead for decades at a time?

So is this place gonna fold now or what? I can't wait to reminisce about the good old times without this bag of loser leftovers ruining it. Nice going calling your successor without even asking him before, by the way. Shows how much of a connection you still had.

What are you gonna do now? Find another depressed old sack who's lazy enough to watch this place fizzle out? Or are you already brooding over that single white page with the expected thanks? Whatever you're going to tell them, you won't be able to chalk this one up to fate convincingly. You can thank me for that.

Or surprise me, oh please do. Find that one weird child with the star and moon on her forehead. She'll likely be in a small box labelled "DANGEROUS DON'T FEED". Hand the kid the lines of power and then run and don't look back. It'll be the best you ever did since you were young and hungry.

Who are you even posting to Kolya? GBM has left the building and ain't looking back, and the rest of us don't give a rat's ass, unless you're going to freak out and post tits to good music. That's always going to be popular and win you love.

Anyway it's not like it's just TTLG fizzling out. Did you see the other thread on people's other forums? Every forum out there is either turning into a shell of its former self or a faceless wall for the masses to throw spaghetti at and see what sticks. Maybe the era of community had its day and it was fun while it lasted. Maybe it'll make a comeback. People will still be posting here anyway.

You hold him for even more irresponsible than I did. I should hope he hasn't left without finding a willing successor, considering all the other admins are missing in action as well. If he did, people won't be posting here for long, because sooner or later stuff will break that's more than just inconvenient and that will be that.

I don't know what GBM has or hasn't done so I don't have an opinion. He's been doing this for a long time so I think he'd have good intuitions about it, but it also looks like he wanted to get out of Dodge with a quickness, and when people want to jump ship that badly, usually the merciful thing to do is let them.

But anyway this isn't like the medieval era where if there's an issue over succession the whole country goes up in flames. I'm sure if Ulu's not up to it there will be stuff going on behind the scenes to get in somebody who's willing and able and the right person and get them up to speed. This is a pretty laid back forum so I think it's flexible enough to deal with a little transition.
