IIRC, that key is terribly hard to see.
The place is right, but the key is hidden in some sort of cavity on top of the beam.
I recall having had problems with that myself - although I knew about it's whereabouts already when plaing it last time.

If, by cavity, you mean the short tunnel that leads to the bedroom, there is nothing there.

Well, without the key, I can't continue the mission. Anyone else have any suggestions?

    Small spoiler:

The dagger is in Roberts house.

The information was written by Robert after he got captured by the City watch.

    Big spoiler:

The dagger is in a safe in Robert's secret room. To open the door to this room, you should pull a lever that is hidden over the wooden beams in the room with the fireplace.

I couldnt fint any lever. where is it ?

Just in case you are unsure about which house it is :
make your way to the southern part of the map. In the north-east there is a well.
The right house is right south to it with a big fireplace.

Once inside, note the beams above the table. The switch is on top of the beams in the north-west.
Getting access to the switch is really hard.
The only way I know is stacking 2 boxes on top of the barrel and mantle up.
Note that the switch has a timer. So you have about 10sec. to find out where to go.
Then it will switch back by itself.

Where do you get the boxes from ?

Sorry, but I do not recall.
Indeed there are just 2 or maybe 3 in the entire mission.
    So, check carefully !

By the way: Savar's missions are extra-hard (or should I say Super-Expert ?) in my opinion.
    So, be warned !

There are 2 boxes . But they is no way to actually carry them to the room . I also dont have enough gold to buy climbing gloves . This is actually what i was talking about earlier .Showstopper bugs

Finding enough loot for the climbing gloves is not a showstopper, it's a feature
You should try easier FMs, this one is too hard for you until you get used to FMs.

Why is that not possible ?
If you found the right boxes and they are frobbable then you can carry them there.

Nobody said that FM's have to be easy.

The gloves won't help you there because you cannot climb the walls around the beams; you do need the boxes. They are in the next room, in right-hand side the corner as you enter the room. Stack them like this.

If you could find Robert's uncle's stash, that alone would get you get gloves (well, almost). Without the gloves, I found 3500 (60% loot, [77% stolen]) gold, including a bunch of special items: wine (don't remember its name), Cat Statuette, Killer's medallion, Necromancer's wand. Then, I went to sell the uncle's fortune, bought the gloves and moved on.
The bugs I found so far are:
    - the water arrow in the fountain is not visible (though this might be intentional as it is audible).
    - You can take a flash bomb from the chest in Robert's house upstairs without opening it.
    - When you climb up to get the gas arrow (next to the flag @ Elisabeth's residence), things disappear (as if you were going to climb into the void. I observed the same thing when I was climbing to get the Stone of Destiny.
    - Missing string tag on loading screen, see this picture. It occurred when I click "Continue" after completing the mission.

I liked this mission very much. Looking forward to part 2 (downloading already).

I need to know exactly where the switch is over the wooden beams in Robert's house. On the beams, on the ceiling, etc.

I don't have any problem getting up there. I can stack boxes, climb, etc. but I must be blind because I cand find it. I have checked out the NW corner as suggested, however you can't get directly to the NW corner because of the way the beams run.

Could someone post a picture of exactly where it is.

    Thanks.

When you are up there just walk to the end of each beam. It is directly above the beam at the wall at height of your eyes (when you are crouching). It is towards the stairs.

But I need help, too. I need to find information about the killer. Everything else is ticked off. What did I miss? Edit: found it! Prison window...
