Just adding my voice to the many. The art! the voices! the humour! All just sooper dooper. Thanks to every single person who put in to this.
This is excellent, dude. I am just playing through Lord Ashton series and now i have atleast 2 reviews of it.
I found this paragraph funny
That was offtopic. One thing I will not dwell upon like some cheesy female-worshiping lech is that the author is a woman. Thief is a curious game in that it attracts the distaff side more than other FPS games**; I think it goes back to the early hunter-gatherer phase of human history, where men would go out and get stomped on and partially eaten by prehistoric wildlife while the women stayed in the cave and played Thief.
On topic i have nothing to say but another thank you and more compliments (finished the mission). No use of that.

Alright!!! Downloading now, canīt wait to play this one, many thanks Russ![]()
OK, I just finished with a little help from Yandros (Thanks. I had checked above the bookshelves in the master's library, but for some reason didn't bother in the secure library! D'uh!) This was a truly great mission, guys and gals. I was really worried about the catacombs until I figured out that the black team could be blackjacked. I'm definitely playing this one again once the patch is ready. Now stop resting on your laurels so you can have mission 2 out for next week!![]()
First of all congratulations to the creators of this awesome fm it is great thing and i still hope to see part 2 of it /i read that its in 60% completed but it probably iwill be abandoned dont do this guys you are greatest of geatest keep going on /

I Salute You Creators
@trudnicki- once you've entered via the main door from the academy turn right and head through that door. If you still can't find it then it's in a room at the end of a heavily patrolled hallway on the left just past the the raised platform.
Third time I played it and it's still awesome.
Black and silver are quite challenging and keep the game from becoming too easy. Red are twitchy and help that way too, but they are a little easier. I have to stop playing it for a while, though I could keep playing it.
It was really freaking me out though at times. A lot of the time the voices yelling at me were mine, and I thought: "why am I chasing myself and slashing at myself? WHY?! What is my problem?!!"
Seriously though, every aspect of this mission is an absolutely beautiful work of art. I can plainly see why it would take so many people so many years to get this released.
I sent a PM to Alexius commenting on the mission's beauty. Some of you go ahead and do the same. Alexius would probably enjoy that.
Thanks to everyone who worked on getting this released.
Coming soon, we ask your patience please. Along with fixing the secret door bug, we introduced another minor change to improve gameplay significantly in one area, but it's taken us a couple of tries to get that right. I think we have it now, so hopefully we can release the update very soon.
Glad you enjoyed it, Don! I agree, Alexius and other members of the team would love to get PMs from everyone.
This mission looked fantastic after hearing all the hype, but due to not being a skilled ghoster I've managed to get my backside kicked and 'killed' about 12 times and haven't gotten further than the boards/electric trap at the beginning. Its no fun for me to spend the first half of a mission ghosting with no defenses should I be found.
Unless there is a blackjack made available at the beginning on the easiest difficulty I probably won't give this one another shot - but I do respect what was accomplished here! The difficulty is a bit too much for me however.
What-what-Whaaaatt?!
It can't be that hard ya know... actually you don't even need to sneak past them - just use the noisemaker arrow and the will be at the designated place for like-forever. Once past that, you can just ignore the blue hammerites, since they are rather weak and move on. Once u get the rope arrows, you get your beloved blackjack (if you take the correct path after walking through the compact tunnel with 1 blue guard). Anyway the switches and wire seeing are the hardest things in the beginning really, so a give-up would be such a waste...
You'll realize it to be quite a stupid reason once you start the actual mission.![]()
SneakyJack: You should give her another go. I nearly quit too but if you stick with it it's worth it. You are noticing the switch in the corner of the room where the little skirmish occurs that turns the electric field off , as well as the switch that turns off the light making it easier to sneak through? Also there is a bit of equipment to be found early on: Water arrows in the little canal where you begin and moss arrows grow from the ceiling of the corridor that leads into the little room where the fight occurs. You'll find a load of equipment not long after all this. Difficulty tends to drop off once you have your blackjack![]()
That's really sad, Jack. I hope you stick with it and get past that part, because there's so much more of the mission to see.
This is making me want to try my hand at Fraps and make a video walkthrough of the first 10 minutes to help people. It really is pretty easy when you know what to do.
I'll give it another shot - but super high difficulty level missions like Mission X and this one.. I'm not really the target audience. Sure I post reviews and such but its all from the perspective of an average casual player, which I very much am and have admitted many times.
I'll keep trying and see if I can get to the gear. After that I'm sure I'll be fine.
Edit: I guess I wasnt looking for switches hard enough. Found both switches, then promptly got killed by a gas trap that activated on its own, apparently. Reloaded, got past that and got ambushed by two blue team members while walking into the next room and then while running away from them got killed again by said gas trap.![]()

Congratualations on release, guys. You must be very pleased.![]()
My traditional question - does a transcript of the movies exist?
Sneaky Jack, I am the unghostingest player in the world, but I had a ball with this mission. First up, you can see from the objectives that you are going to get some gear soon.
Second, the fun you can have with the gas trap is immense.
I finished it last night on the easiest level, with a couple of secrets, in just over 3 hours, but it took me 3 days and probably about 10 hours playing time to achieve this.
To the makers, thank you for the work and thought that went into this mission. From my point of view, the gameplay was superb. You must trust the experience of the makers in this Sneaky Jack. Some parts are difficult, but not impossible. You are given what you need. Once I realised that, I could take my time and enjoy it.
My only criticism would be a sense of anti-climax at the ending after some near-breathtaking escapes. Having been to the vaults under the cathedral well before completing all the objectives needed to finish, it becomes obvious that these areas are optional, and lead only to bonus objectives, thereby making the accomplishment of getting the mine detonators and loot seem superflous.
I never did find the moving stone wall in the cathedral walkways and after realizing it was possibly a bug, pretty well gave up after that, thus the sense of let-down.
The mission itself however, it truly magnificent. So Jack, do yourself a favour, trust the highly experienced creators, and give it another go.
I am finding my way around now after doing some trial and error
Once I find my trusty blackjack I'll be able to enter my 'comfort zone' again and truly enjoy the mission. The parts that I've seen since getting the rope arrows are definitely making me want to continue
Thanks everyone for your help - once I turned the gamma up a bit I could see the switch that I missed (apparently im going blind!) and I've now found the rope arrows and am making my way around the mission. Now to find that gear and I'm setMost missions I figure out right away but some of the bigger releases like this seem to put me back into newbie land somehow.
As someone who regularly gives up on missions I find too frustrating or tedious, I found Seven Shades to be a bit on the easy side . The two switches at the start enables one to pretty much walk by the guards and the traps are spelled out clear as day in the scroll on the crate . The only real challenge for me was the silver and black teams, and that didn't even take too much effort . I did get killed a few times at the start until I learned too slow down and think about how to proceed .![]()
Found a bug, or an exploit......
At the start, in the gas machine room I decided to drop the instructional scroll at the tripwire as a marker to the wire's location. If the scroll is dropped in exactly the right place, the tripwire disappears and you can walk through it without activating the gas machine.![]()
Just WOW!
What a terrific mission so far. I haven't reached the cathedral yet, but so far it looks beautiful. I love the intro, the art and music, and the readables in the Academy make me giggle
Kudos to the whole team for the level of attention!
Did anyone noticed Shivan's result for his theology exam btw?![]()
everything done except the black statuette.
can you believe that. I must be searching too hard.
need some help please. thanks
Let me give you a hint:
DON't go up the stairs to the academy. Instead, look at the hallway from the two golden team members to the electrical trap, there is a hole in the ceiling. Shoot a rope arrow to it and go right. You'll end up in the room where you can find your blackjack!
