    Max Payne 3 announced

    http://www.rockstargames.com/maxpayne3/

Note that PC version is also announced but for some reason it's not in the platform list.

First game was great with the new bullet time and all. Second had some great moments but I didn't like the story that much and also it was quite short. Not sure what to think about the third game, hopefully it will be at least longer than the second.

Absence of Remedy and the fact that this will be multiplatform game from the beginning aren't good signs though .

    EDIT:

Looks like Scots beat me to this. Can a mod close or merge this thread?

I'll keep an open mind, Rockstar Vancouver made the original PS2 Bully, which was pretty good.

Thank God that the inept retards at Rockstar New England aren't involved (formerly Mad Doc Software). They're responsible for the shitty, bug-ridden 360 and PC ports of Bully and Empire Earth 3.

It's great news. I'm sure RS Vancouver will do a great job, because I enjoyed Bully far more than any of the GTAs. However, I'm still secretly wishing that Remedy had taken over design duties, because they know Max better than anyone else.

As long as Sam Lake writes I could give a fuck less who develops it. Rockstar dev'd the 2nd one and they did the 1st one's console ports.

Also, in before vurt comes in spewing his stupid bullshit about how Max Payne is poorly written because Sam Lake is Finnish.

You're probably right about that, actually.

But let's not resurrect the vurt argument again now.

Ayj, I don't know if you were being sarcastic or something or just sounding out general pessimism, Koki style. So I guess I'll just have to end this on a completely random note:

Did you know that if an Indian tried to pronounce your nick, Aja, it'd come out as "ah-ja", which in Hindi means "come on"?

At any rate, I thought both Max Paynes were pretty damn great; should get around to replaying them at some point...

If I owned a console, I'd be cautiously interested.

Maybe if I got around to playing Bully, I'd be a bit more optimistic. But for now, Remedy not being behind a new Max Payne makes me want to cast sidelong glances and go "eeehhhh" everytime it's brought up. We'll see.

It was the best news I had ever heard, though it barely made it past the ringing of my bloodied perforated ear drums. The heat from the blast was still fresh and rolled over me in waves like clown's laughter, which made each snowflake that landed on my cheek a slap in the face. It was falling hard and fast, like every angel in heaven had a bad curry the night before. I felt their pain.

Crappy as the graphics were, I fucking loved the bully port to the 360, it just oozed character, and had one of the best soundtracks I have heard in a game in a long time.

That's what I most loved Max Payne for. The story and writing were such a melodramatic chunk of cheese, but not in enough of a nudge-nudge-knowing wink way to fall by the wayside with those other so bad it's gooders that skated too close to the edge.

And the combat was excellent, of course. Great news. I wish they'd bring the old Max face back though, his frozen-on constipated grimace was somehow more interesting than the generic hunk of spunk they used to carry 2.

I have to say that I fucking loved Max Payne 1 and 2. Only games that I ever beat on every single difficulty mode. So yeah, it's great news. Though I'm disappointed that remedy isn't involved. I hope they don't tie any of it to the movie.

MP3?! Oh fucking sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!! It's going to be a great year; Mafia II, Postal III, possibly a Hitman V, and now a new Max Payne of all things. Who saw that coming?

They should make a gay porno knockoff of the series.

The movie was based heavily on Max Payne 1, and I don't think this'll be a remake. So, I don't it will have much to do with the movie, no.

Unless they get Mark Wahlberg to do the voice-acting or something.
