Terrain is best when you want proper shadows, especially on things that are large.

I'm working on a piece of crap at the moment. Hopefully, one day, in the not-too-distant future, it might pass as a decently playable, half-way interesting piece of crap that might entertain a handful of patient, tolerant people with an expansive sense of humor. Nope, no screenshots yet. Just a bunch of mono-textured, uninspired, blocky brushes that look like a bunch of fourth graders put together with really big lego blocks. Good thing I'm a fairly patient person. Jeezus this shit is hard, and oh-so-tedious. But, it keeps me off the streets!!

I'll second that notion. It looks really strange and distracting to see huge cotton bolls around all the light sources in a mission. Love the streaks of light beams in missions, but big, screen-smearing smudges...ehh, I can do without them. Definitely a little goes a long ways.

Are those PinkDot's book cases? And if so, what did you do to them?

    We were all there, once.

No, he made them himself. Check his earlier posts in this thread.

Two of the last custom objects for a while, I think - this should get me most of the stuff I need until I get into a couple of unique quest items. Manchester Central Library has these really neat reading desks, where the normal desk surface is augmented by a raised book holder and desk light. This picture shows two objects that recreate the same basic idea: the desk can be used on its own, and the light/book holder fits atop it if needed:

With a little switch on the desk, the light can be turned on and off, too

VERY nice Watcher!. Besides the objects, I like the room. Especially the window ledges.

Y'know, if you want something a little more directional than coronas for the headlights, Targa cones can work really well.

Especially if you use them in offset layers to work around the 4-bit alpha limitation.

    Sumerian Brick Wall Textures

I've been working on Sumerian inspired objects and textures. Here are a series of painted brick walls that all interconnect.

Fired up Dromed again at the weekend to work on my slowly-progressing epicly-huge mission. It's a depressing 5-10% complete I reckon.

I've also been slowly working on/teaching myself to make a new AI character for the mission.

How much am I likely to get hurt if I say that looks dead good?

Also, private reading room (I need to make some brandy glass models....):

    Golden Dagger Loot

I needed wanted a few funerary object loot items. This is the first. The dagger and sheath are separate objects. Another version has both as one.
