    when i tryed to install thief 1 on my new comp

    when i tryed to install thief 1 on my new comp,it said it cant install it due to a direct x issue with window nt,i got no idea what that means,is there a fix? running window 7 home premium.

    Sure, grab the unofficial patch from here. It contains various fixes and improvements to the textures and models, will update Thief to use ddfix and stop it crashing on multicore processors. Last time I used it I just had to copy the THIEF directory from my CD onto my computer in an area outside Program Files (e.g. c:\games is fine) and then run the patch and pick the directory I had copied it to.

    i got updates for windows i will try a bit later and post results,problem is it wont even install game

    i cant get it to install this is the excat message i get

    "this product cannot be installed on windows NT due to a microsoft direct x limitation"


    and i cant put on a patch if game is not installed

    i got latest direct x update

    windows 7 home premium

    This is answered in the Thief Series FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (Technical / Purchasing / Etc.).

    But did you try Al_B's suggestion of copying and pasting the Thief directory from the cd to your pc?

    i am just going to use old comp for thief fan missions,until i get how to fix my issue,nothing about my problem was in that post,thank you all for help
