Everytime I do a compile, just before the tinkle bell rings, DromEd minimizes. It's never done this before. Any ideas?
This happens for me on Quick Optimize + ObjCast, but only on my Vista PC and not on my Win7 PC. I've determined that the Dromed window appears to lose focus when the Optimize command window opens, and that's why it minimizes when the process finishes. If you click on it on the Taskbar after the Optimize window closes and before the process finishes, it won't minimize.
I think it had something to do with the Monolog Viewer. Changing Always On Top to 0 seems to have fixed the problem.
Wow, I'll try that when I get home, thanks!
Oops! It came back.
It happens when DDFIX is installed, and only after you have entered the game mode at least once. After going to game mode and returning to editor mode, DromEd minimises whenever you switch to a different application (including monolog viewer and DromAddOn).
Optimising runs CSGMERGE.EXE (the DOS window that opens) which is effectively switching to a different application so DromEd gets minimised. But it happens with a delay; the moment DromEd becomes responsive (at the end of lighting) you'll see it go minimised.
Well, that's a pisser. Thanks to TafferPatcher, I can finally use DromEd with ddfix. Everything looks just as it would in the game. Before, all the textures were single-color and no hi-res sky. I guess I can live with it.
I think that's because of Aero.
DromEd can run with Aero, but game mode can't. Once you enter game mode, Windows disables Aero for that application, but it doesn't turn it back on once you go back to edit mode. As such, DromEd is running without Aero, and it tends to get minimised when other programs open.
Solution: quit and restart DromEd after going into game mode. It's not pleasant, but hey, SS2 mission authors (those exist?) have to do this every time they go into game mode anyway.
What is 'Aero'?
