I was thinking how cool it would be to find a group of Thief fans in my country of residence, find a nice historical location wait for it to get dark, dress-up in cosplay put fake gold/loot everywhere and take it in turns to be garret.
Has anyone else had this idea, and have they done it before?

There was a bit of interest last year in the UK but I think it ended up more as a normal get-together of a few members.
Several people have created costumes and props, and a couple have gone to conventions, but I don't think a buncha taffers got together dressed up. Lots of photos and vids have been shared here.
JillyMac and her husband like to dress up and film themselves going on "missions" sneaking around town. That's probably the way to do it. Find one or a few friends already close to you and boss them into it.
You'd have a better chance of finding people here to play multiplayer coop Thief with you, which is fun in its own way.
